Furlesque in Burbank - Magnolia Commons

June 19th, 2009

You can now find Furlesque in Burbank!  For those in L.A. - Furlesque is now at the “Magnolia Commons”.   They just opened and have a great combination of vintage and new.  We have a starring role near the front door (see picture below) but there is much there beyond Furlesque!  I saw used Prada and Miu Miu shoes - definitely worth a look for any local clotheshorses.

If you haven’t shopped in Burbank along Magnolia (and you’re into vintage) you may want to check it out - just east of Hollywood Way on Magnolia, there’s a cluster of vintage clothing and antique stores that have been in the area since waaaay before this recent vintage craze!

Magnolia Commons is open daily 11 - 6.  They’re located at 3413 Magnolia Blvd. (818) 845-8004.  Upside of shopping in Burbank on Magnolia??  Generally alot of easy access metered parking all along the street.  Happy Shopping!

Sexy ways to wear your Hydrangea tee…Thursday musings

Whimsy

Sometimes I need to change things up on a whim…..this has included me cutting about 2 feet off a designer jacket and adding a tulle tutu from a ballet type skirt I had - which I then ended up wearing over my wedding dress…..SHORT - HOT - FUN (I’ll put up a pic later)!  Anyway, don’t listen to me or you’ll next be butchering something on the floor (tee hee)!!!!  What can I say, I get bored and….things happen…..take a tee you’re sick of and cut a deep scoop neck into it for a hot look on a Friday night…..sometimes a girl just has to do what she has to do.

A Funky Girl

A couple weeks ago at the Unique Show - I had a creative little customer who wanted me to alter her new tee on the spot - so we did!!!  She was a smaller girl and was buying the white comfy tee - she was going to put a hot neon bra under it (so it would show with the deep V neck) and she wanted the sleeves off - more of a tank feel.  I cut off the sleeves - and we narrowed the tee at the shoulder on each side (using fabric from the sleeves)….told her she could use leather, ribbon, whatever else when she got home.  She had a party that night and off she went into the sunset…..cute and hot….

The Low Down

Soooo today I’m in that mood….and I experimented with our “off the shoulder” hydrangea tee.  It’s a great straight-ahead tee - casual - not a tight skimpy tee - more of a relaxed fit.  Here’s a pic of it  in our store…..

I wanted more body action so here’s what I did…..(btw you could do this to any similar tee you might have).  I pulled up the sleeves on both sides and rolled each of them and then tied them in the back to keep them pulled up and in place…..easy!  Didn’t even cut the tee….feels great…..red hat….optional.

Now I’m ready to go out there and spread some love…

May 2nd & 3rd - Furlesque at Unique Los Angeles, Booth 402

April 25th, 2009

We’re working hard this weekend on promoting the Unique Los Angeles event that’s coming next weekend!  Very grateful to our friends at “Home” restaurant in Los Feliz and Silverlake/Echo Park (both locations) who are helping us to promote the event through their restaurant - passing out promo cards to customers!!!  I understand there’s also a hard-working crew out at the UCLA Festival of Books this weekend - they are passing out cards there too.  If you’re in Los Angeles this coming weekend - - hopefully you will come by.  Check out the fantastic site for the event:  www.uniquelosangeles.com
