Furlesque tees ♥ LA Derby Dolls
Sunday, January 25th, 2009O M Motherf*cking God……that was so much fun! Yep – I’m talking about the Derby Dolls event you didn’t make last night!!!!!! If you like loud music – hot strong women in roller skates and lots of fun – (I want one of those outfits – you get to wear skates that make your legs look 6 feet long, fishnets – totally flattering – and little bun hugging short shorts that say things like “WMD” across your ass) – well – they had me at HELLO!!!! Seriously, it’s all about these talented cool skaters and the people who love them…..I highly recommend it!!!!
We had to load in hours before the event started – it all went seamlessly from a vendor standpoint. We were on a corner – near a stage – where a kick axe band later played (Rosemary’s Billygoat) next to some really nice guys from Hoodlums 4 Life (check em out on myspace) who immediately hooked us up with electricity so we could plug in our extra lights. Fast forward to being set up and a darling bartendress zeroing right in on – and – buying one of our new dresses which I knew would look fabulous on her. We then had time to hang out and go back and forth from the “vendor village” to the rink while people arrived. As the girls warm up, the excitement and mood build and you can’t help but get caught up in it. It’s over the top mayhem with everyone just having a good ole time. Luckily, I time it right on one of my trips back to the rink and I end up in the bleachers for the national anthem….as we all sing, some guy captures my mood perfectly – and at just the right moment screams “O B A M A”…
and ALL this before the game has even started…
