Furlesque…animal lovers…reality TV…???
Funny how things happen. A friend of ours, Jane Bolduc, is a singer/songwriter and is part of a community that does fundraising for good causes around Los Angeles (Grassroots Acoustica). When her bud, Mark Islam, (Grassroots Acoustica “MC”) called us and needed something to wear for one of their benefits – we gladly obliged. As it turns out this particular fundraiser was taped as part of a reality show!! So, he will be wearing a Furlesque vintage mash-up in an upcoming episode of Tori Spelling’s and Dean McDermott’s reality show “Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood.”
Now for the bittersweet part – they were raising money for Tori’s Mimi LaRue Fund for Sick and Injured Animals at Much Love Animal Rescue (Mimi LaRue was Tori’s beloved pug who passed away in 2008).
We’ll keep you posted on when the episode will air – but here’s a little blip about it in the Santa Monica Daily Mirror. For more info on Mark and his fundraising crue go to the Grassroots Acoustica website and for more info on the Mimi LaRue Fund check out their page at Much Love Animal Rescue.
Editor’s Note: What’s a vintage mashup? Its Furlesque’s limited line of hand-picked vintage items silkscreend with our imagery – these one-of-a-kind pieces are available in the Furlesque Vintage Boutique.
